The world needs a better way to share genetic information

In 2018 the Earth BioGenome Project proposed a moonshot idea of sequencing all eukaryotic life on the planet. But despite its ambition, it has been hindered by serious challenges: gaining funding and establishing an international collaboration of scientists collecting and sequencing species. Achieving this kind of goals requires a complete rethinking of the Nagoya Protocol.
